Really, I have been up and awake for hours, and just now am I brewing coffee. I am not looking forward to whatever this lovely day will hold for several reasons:
1) We are all under heat-alert warnings in CT. Temps to rise over 100. Lovely.
2) My senior pastor is on a 5 week vacation, which means I am running the ship, alone, again.
3) I am still exhausted and recovering from my exciting travels to the UK, shortly followed by my week-long mission trip to Maine with 3 dozen teenagers. We just got home Saturday night.
4) My list of parishoners in the hospital is growing. Another one added this morning. Clearly, I can put off my need to visit them no longer. My big question is this: why don't they all get admited to the same damn hospital? No! We have to divide ourselves amongst the 3 of them....argh! And they are not all in the same direction, in the least. Whine.
5) The top reason that my day is headed for bad: One of my church families made the 11 o'clock news last night. Apparently, they are being held on $50,000 bail for sexual abuse. I missed the news, but ironically had just seen them at a church dinner last night, where they told me they were leaving for a family vacation this morning, to Florida, by car. Does that coincide with this breaking news? Argh!

(We've also got the same heat warning issues. Gotta love it-feels-like-110 weather! Um, yeah.)
